We construct, paint, and wire standard or custom substation control panels. We do not currently furnish components but we will gladly install them.

We often build panel fronts to our customers’ specifications. Let us know what you need and we’ll do our best to accommodate your project.

We regularly make blank plates, provide engraved tags, build custom metal cabinets (such as yard interface cabinets), and more. We also have supported commercial and residential customers with painted metal signs and other custom projects. Email us with your project details for an estimate!

A little about us…
Brady Hume is our owner and fabricator and has worked in the utilities industry fabricating substation control panels and other components since 2004. He started Farmstead Fabrication in 2022 and has continued to primarily serve the utilities sector, along with other commercial and residential projects when time allows. Brady is a precision welder with extensive electrical experience, a degree in automotive collision repair (and therefore an experienced direct-to-metal painter), and was raised on a farm with regular opportunities to problem solve.
First and foremost, Brady is a Believer, husband, and father and is very grateful to be able to do what he loves in our fabrication shop and paint booth while also being near to his family.
Kari Hume, Brady’s wife, supports our cherished customers and vendors with quotes, invoicing, and more. She is home with our children and loves how our Heavenly Father has blessed our family and this business.
